From the nursery to child day care right up to the "Haus der kleinen Forscher" (The house of little explorers): In the Ulm Innovation Region, smart alternatives for child supervision are the order of the day. For example in the model project "Bildungshaus 3 – 10" (Educational house), where children from playschool and primary school learn and play together. Boys and girls are already being taught the fascination of experimentation and research at pre-school age: this is made possible with the initiative "Haus der kleinen Forscher". Over 600 trained educators in the region turn natural sciences and technology into an experience for children.

The supervision options on offer for children range from municipal or ecclesiastical nurseries, playschools and day care right up to private establishments such as the Montessori "Kinderhäusern" (Children's houses).
