After work. Weekend. Time for relaxation and recovery. Whether doing sports or having exciting adventures: the Ulm Innovation Region provides smart alternatives for almost any kind of leisure time activities. Inline skating, cycling and climbing amidst lovely landscape is as much a part of this as having fun in the water at the adventure swimming pools and lakes in the region. Golf fans, too, get their money's worth. Those who just prefer to watch sports can cheer on the national league of the basketballers of the ratiopharm Ulm team, and the second division Erdgas Ehingen team. And in winter, the ski slopes and cross-country tracks tempt visitors to the Swabian mountains.

The tourist facilities in the region have created a large leisure time package under the motto "Family fun" specifically for families with children. In addition, the leisure time attractions "Legoland Germany", the Steiff "Erlebniswelt" and the "Ravensburger Spieleland" lie only a few kilometres away by car.

You can find details on leisure time possibilities and the "Family fun" package under:

Here is a small extract from the comprehensive range of leisure time activities on offer in the Ulm Innovation Region.

Bicycling, whether with the whole family or as a sport, is no problem at all in this region. There are tours amongst other things in Blautal, in Illertal and in the Donaumoos. Family-friendly day tours are also signposted on which our charming surroundings can be explored as you ride along.

Tourism in the administrative district of Neu-Ulm

Cycling in the Swabian Donautal (Danube valley)

General German Cycling Club, Ulm/Alb-Donau/Neu-Ulm

This is where world champions are created: the traditional Ulm "Donau" rowing club provided one of the successful oarsmen from the world championschip eights in 2015. In the performance centre on the Danube, rowers have optimum training opportunities. Rowing is of course also possible for leisure time sportsmen and women wishing to row up and down the Danube in less of a hurry.

Fun and action are guaranteed in the Mega-Rutschen-Tower (Mega-slide tower) in the "Wonnemar" Danube baths. Whilst very small children can play in "Wonniland", older children and adults can be swept along by the flow channel in the outside pool and enjoy the holiday feeling in the adventure wave pool. The 35° C thermal pool with numerous bubbling daybeds provide relaxation and rest. In the attractive sauna world, you can take a well-earned break from everyday life.

An adventure pool with waves and a slide, brine pools in the outside area and a swimmer's pool 25 metres in length - the "Bad Blau" in Blaustein is recommended for water rats of all ages. The bistro, the large lawn area and the wellness area including saunas in Finnish style round off the range of offers.

In the "Nautilla" in Illertissen, there is opportunity for relaxation and action alike. There is a diverse range of things to do here with a sauna landscape, a brine pool, a saline vapour pool and fun water attractions, amongst them a 52 metre-long water slide. Those who feel like it can treat themselves to a relaxing massage in the wellness area.

244 climbing elements invite you to balance, swing and climb about in a wonderful forest area near Laichingen. Visitors can try out eleven courses with increasing levels of difficulty. In Wallenhausen, too, you can climb up high: here there is a climbing park in the middle of natural woodland. Courses with varying degrees of difficulty and more than 80 climbing elements make for a very special natural experience. The DAV climbing hall in Neu-Ulm offers the perfect solution for those not wishing to abstain from the all-season climbing. Thrills included in the price!

Playing Golf

The Ulm Golf Club grounds at Illerrieden is considered one of the most beautiful golf courses in Southern Germany. The Ulm Golf Club is the only one in the region to be listed in the "Leading Golf Courses of Germany".  This seal of quality stands for optimum playing conditions, professional club management and high-quality gastronomy. The 18-hole course of the Golf club Donau-Riss in Ehingen-Rißtissen is fitted into the flat landscape in front of the Swabian Alb and still ambitiously designed. Golf is also played on the Bavarian side of the Danube: The 9-hole course of the Golf and Tennis Club in Neu-Ulm lies in an idyllic setting directly on the Danube.
